Kimbo Slice's First Comments Since Joining TUF 10
Kimbo Slice's First Comments Since Joining TUF 10Street fighting sensation Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson has made his first public comments since last night’s shocking announcement that he will be a contestant on 10th season of the popular reality show, “The Ultimate Fighter.”

Kimbo makes a quick cameo in UFC President Dana White’s June 1st video blog. The YouTube legend is seen lounging on his hotel room couch, anxious to hit the set of the Spike TV show.

“It’s an opportunity, it’s an opportunity for me to prove myself,” Kimbo stated. “Being a mixed martial artist coming from the backyard, being a street fighter and all. It’s time to step my game up and a lot of people out there had a lot of questions about if I could fight mixed martial arts style. How was my ground game and all that [expletive], but I’m coming in to prove myself, I’m coming in to kick ass, take names and continue feeding myself and my family.”

Ironically, White was Kimbo’s worst critic when he was employed by EliteXC just a year ago. The outspoken president pulled no punches when he bashed Kimbo’s credentials, stating that his resume was not sufficient enough to compete on a stage of this magnitude.

For Kimbo, the past is the past and his eyes are focused directly on the pot of gold at the end of the TUF rainbow, regardless of what his potential/future boss thinks of him. In fact, he has already channeled that negativity to help motivate him bring home the TUF crown.

“It’s all good man,” Kimbo said about White’s previous statements. “DW can say whatever the [expletive] he wants, but as far as I’m concerned with all the [expletive] that he was saying, the greatest revenge to my knowledge is success. That’s the only thing that I got to say about that, the greatest revenge is success. I don’t care about the [expletive] talking, I don’t care about the [expletive] talkers, whoever you are if you want to see me, see me.”

Several months ago - after the fall of EliteXC, White was asked if he was willing to allow the untrained street fighter into his Octagon. White scoffed at the very notion. However, in a condescending way, he did offer Kimbo an opportunity to fight his way into the UFC by competing in “The Ultimate Fighter,” MMA’s greatest farming system.

Apparently, White’s sarcasm went right over Kimbo’s cranium as he jumped at the opportunity to get his professional career on track.

“So evidently, he wasn’t willing to step to the plate but he’s going to put my up against whoever and that’s how I look at it,” said Kimbo. “In a sense it does [motivate me]. Put his best man in there, if I gotta run through whoever I gotta run through, just to prove myself then that’s what I gotta do. I gotta eat, I gotta eat some kind of way. I gotta feed my family, I’m hungry out there. [Expletive] there’s a recession.”

See, Kimbo is not only a great street fighter, but he is also the most economically-conscious fighter in all of MMA. Truly a win-win for all.
