Late Tuesday evening, the Nevada State Athletic Commission handed down a total of nine medical suspensions stemming from various injuries sustained during this past Saturday’s UFC 98 event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Former UFC light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans not only lost his strap over the Holiday weekend, but he too will be riding the sidelines for a short period after suffering his TKO loss to Lyoto Machida.
Dave Kaplan: Suspended through June 23rd, with no contact until June 14th due to a nose laceration.
Andre Gusmao: Suspended through July 23rd, with no contact until July 8th as a precautionary measure.
Kyle Bradley: Needs doctor clearance after his right hand gets X-rayed. Could be out through December 10th.
Phillipe Nover: Suspended through June 23rd, with no contact until June 14th as a precautionary measure.
Sean Sherk: Suspended through July 8th, with no contact until June 23rd as a precautionary measure.
Patrick Barry: Needs doctor clearance after his right foot gets X-rayed. Could be out through December 10th. Could be out through December 10th. However if cleared, he’s out through June 23rd, with no contact until June 14th.
Xavier Foupa-Pokam: Suspended through July 8th, with no contact until June 23rd as a precautionary measure.
Drew McFedries: Needs doctor clearance after his right wrist gets X-rayed. Could be out through December 10th.
Rashad Evans: Suspended through July 23rd, with no contact until July 8th as a precautionary measure.
