- We had reported yesterday that Martin Kampmann (15-2) would face TJ Grant (14-2) at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale on Saturday, June 20th in Las Vegas, NV. However, Kampmann has turned down the fight. "No disrespect to T.J. Grant, but I don’t think it’s a fight that makes any sense for me at the moment,” Kampmann told Versus.com. “I want to fight some higher ranked guys. I never even knew who the guy was, and he’s probably a tough guy, but I want to fight guys who make sense for me and who can escalate me up the ladder more, so I didn’t accept that fight. I don’t know what happened, but apparently some miscommunication somewhere because I saw it all over the internet.”
- Forrest Griffin will appear on Last Call with Carson Daly this Friday, May 22 on NBC. No doubt he'll be promoting the new UFC video game, which features him on the cover.

- Here's a really brief recap of last night's episode of The Ultimate Fighter. Team US member Jason Pierce now has a staph infection in his right leg, which helps him greatly in his bid to get out of his fight with Team UK's David Faulkner. So instead this week we have Team US's Jason Dent facing Team UK's Jeff Lawson, who began showing his personality this episode clowning around the house with the rest of his team.
Meanwhile Dana White meets with Jason Pierce and asks him is he was going to fight. Pierce did a great job of saying no while his lips said "Yes". White afterwards noted that Pierce doesn't want to fight.
The fight between Lawson and Dent saw Lawson take the first round, with both coaches admitting to their respective fighters that Lawson won the round before the second round started. Lawson then channeled Travis Lutter and gassed immediately, allowing Dent to take advantage and submit him with an anacanda choke. White said after the fight that Dent won, be he was "far, far, fra, far from impressive". Still, it was a victory for Team US, who now trail Team UK 4-3.
The show ended with White telling Pierce that he wasn't going to fight Faulkner next week, and Faulkner doing his damndest trying to act upset by the news. That's it for this week's episode. Hey, I told you it's a brief recap. For a detailed recap of the show from the UFC, click here.
