Affliction VP Tom Atencio Calls Out Dana White . . . Again
Affliction VP Tom Atencio Calls Out Dana White . . . AgainAffliction Vice President Tom Atencio continues to call out UFC President Dana White as he prepares for his fight with Randy Hedderick on June 27th. In addition to the comments that he made last week regarding Dana White ever stepping into the cage (full article), he questioned the legitimacy of the planned Tito Ortiz - Dana White boxing match that never took place in 2007 on Friday's edition of MMAJunkie.com Radio. White and Ortiz were supposed to square off in a boxing match in early 2007, and the fight was promoted on SpikeTV. Ortiz pulled out of the fight, saying that he hadn't received any assurances that the money generated from the fight would go to charity. White contended that Ortiz chickened out of the bout.

"I think the fight that was supposed to be between him and Tito, I don't think that was really ever going to happen," Atencio said. "I think that was just a big publicity stunt . . . If he was willing to fight Tito, why wouldn't he be willing to fight me?"

Atencio continued, "I’m not saying I could beat the guy, but let's fight. Sometimes [White] just comes off as a tough guy, and I think if you're tough, then be tough. If you're not, then that's cool. And I'm not saying I'm tough at all. I'm just saying at least I'm willing to step in the ring. I'll do it."
