 * To the surprise of no one, Afflication has decided against holding their next event on July 11, 2009 - the same night UFC presents UFC 100. Affliction 3 is now likely for August, although no official date has been set.
* FiveOuncesOfPain.com is reporting that The Ultimate Fighter Season 8 lightweight winner Efrain Escudero will leave his training camp in Arizona and head to Miami, Florida to train with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and his twin brother Antonio Rogério Nogueira in their new gym. Escudero, who was trained by Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira on TUF 8, faces Cole Miller at UFC 103.
* In a follow up to our story yesterday about James 'Sandman' Irvin having to bow out of his fight with Drew McFedries at UFC 98 on May 23, Fighters Only Magazine is reporting that Irvin’s replacement will be “Professor X” Xavier Foupa-Pokam (20-10). Foupa-Pokam recently made his UFC debut at UFC 97 on April 18, losing to Denis Kang. While the Irvin vs. McFedries was originally scheduled to be on the main card, no announcement has been made if this fight will remain televised.
