At the UFC:97 Post-fight Press conference, Dana White announced the Fight Night bonuses. All award winners received $70,000 which is a pretty good bonus for those in the preliminary matchups and is up from previous fight cards. Fight of the Night went to Sam Stout and Matt Wiman for their 3 round war that was bumped up to the main card to make up for time. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua was given Knockout of the Night for his devastating left that sent Liddell, along with his career, to the canvas yet again. Krzysztof Soszynski's kimura victory in the first round over previous WEC champ Brian Stan earned him Submission of the Night honors. There were not many submissions on the card and his was the best of the lot according to Dana White.
