 A lightweight match up between Josh Neer and Kurt Pellegrino is in the works for an upcoming unannounced UFC Fight Night tentatively planned for August 5. Both fighters have verbally agreed to fight each other; contracts have yet to be signed though.
Neer is coming off of a second straight “Fight of the Night” in an impressive win over TUF 6 winner Mac Danzig at UFN 17 back in February. The UFC awarded Neer with a recent contract extension after his win over Danzig.
Meanwhile, Pellegrino has put together two consecutive wins inside of the octagon including a unanimous decision win over Thiago Tavares at UFC 88 back in September and a submission victory over Rob Emerson at UFN 17.
