UFC lightweight Josh Neer (24-7-1) was picked up early this morning and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicatied, hit-and-run, and evading police after he lead authorities on a high-speed chase in Des Moines, Iowa.

Evading police is a felony charge

Sherdog.com is reporting that Sgt. Jeff Phillips of the Des Moines Police Department confirmed the charges earlier today.

Appearenly, an inebriated Neer, struck two vehicles including a police car before leading authorities on a brief chase that saw Neer exceed 100 miles per hour in an attempt to get away.

Neer's side contends that excessive forced was used when police eventually apprehended him and they are currently considering legal action against the police department.

Neer is scheduled to face Mac Danzig at UFC Fight Night 17 on Feb. 7 in Tampa, Fla. and will be physically able to participate according to his manager.
