Round 2: Cote was in trouble early with Almeida getting him down to the ground and trying for a gogaplata, but Almeida let go. Almeida looks like he's either showboating or getting tired, it's tough to tell, Almeida doesn't have the charisma to pull it off if he is showboating. Crowd is starting to get uneasy with the fight, you can feel the unrest with the crowd. Almeida tried for another guillotine late in the round but Cote popped out again. Cote clipped Almeida as the round came to a close. 10-9 Cote.
Round 3: Cote comes out looking strong and up in the round with a leg kick at 1:30 into the round. Cote is clearly the aggressor and earning the judge's points although no damage is being done. Crowd is in an un-excited silence. With a minute left in the round, this fight has had a couple of leg kicks from Cote and a few jabs from Almeida. Almeida is exhausted at this point but still takes Cote down. Almeida went for a submission, but it's a tough fight to call. It seems like 10-9 Cote, but hard to say with the takedown at the end.
Winner: Patrick Cote via split decision (29-28 Cote, 29-28 Almeida, 29-28 Cote)

Light Heavyweight Championship Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson vs. Forrest Griffin
While watching the preview for the fight, it's surprising how this fight ended up being a shell of what it should have been. Two popular characters with a colorful smack talker in Rampage and a popular personality in Griffin, and the fight has turned out to be a run of the mill UFC main event.
Griffin was the crowd favorite and the crowd booed Rampage. Rampage came in looking menacing, while Forrest looked like the hopping, crowd favorite dweeb. The crowd reacted to the ring entrances for Rampage and Griffin and for the first time in months, the fight seemed like a big deal. Rampage looked a little softer than usual.
Round 1: The two came out swinging. Forrest went for the leg kicks. Jackson hit some hard punches and Forrest went for the clinch, but Rampage was able to quickly get out. Rampage landed some hard shots that rocked Forrest and Forrest answered. With 80 seconds left, Rampage knocked Forrest loopy and pushed him to the cage but wasted some time hurting Forrest when he was most vulnerable. Forrest able to work up and answer with some knees. They traded blows as the first round came to a close. 10-9 Forrest.
