Main Card
Thiago Silva vs. Antonio Mendes
Round 1: Mendes knocked down Silva early with a high kick, even though Silva had his hand up and blocked some of it. Mendes followed that by taking Silva down again but they were back up later. Silva then took Mendes down and mounted Mendes and Silva had him in full mount. Silva started hammering away and the referee stopped it to win by TKO.
Winner via tapout (strikes) in Round 1: Thiago Silva
BJ Penn is leading in the poll on who will win his fight tonight with Sean Sherk with 65% to 35%.
Urijah Faber was shown in the crowd and they plugged his fight with Jens Pulver next week.
Lyoto Machida vs. Tito Ortiz
Round 1: The two started the round without much contact for the first minute. Ortiz shoots, but is blocked. Very little action in this round with two minutes left. Machida got a good high kick, but not much else happened this round. Finally with 10 second left in the round Machida took Ortiz down and started hitting him with punches as the buzzer sounded to save Ortiz. I score this round 10-9 for Machida.
