Anderson Silva Not Retiring… Yet
Anderson Silva Not Retiring… YetInTheGuard.tv had reported through an interview with current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva that Silva was considering retiring next year. His manager Ed Soares quickly jumped onto the MMA.tv forums and clarified, “I can guarantee you Anderson will not be retiring within the next year. He still has 6 fights on his contract.”

If anyone would know, it would be Soares who has been as involved with Anderson Silva as anybody.

“I'll retire next year, I already gave my all. I don't need to prove anything for anyone and within one year I'll put my gloves aside.” Silva told InTheGuard.tv.

It is also being stated that Silva spoke about retirement numerous times during the interview, which would have seemed to kill any thoughts of him just talking about it.

Silva is slated to face Patrick Cote in the main event of UFC 90, which would mean that he would have five fights left under his UFC contract.
