Affliction Postpones and Moves "Day of Reckoning" to January
Affliction Postpones and Moves "Day of Reckoning" to JanuaryIn a move that many could see coming from a mile away, MMAWeekly is reporting that Affliction Entertainment has decided to postpone “Day of Reckoning” to January 17th. The event was originally scheduled for October 11th and had a main event of Andrei Arlovski vs. Fedor Emelianenko for the WAMMA heavyweight title, but a subsequent injury to Emelianenko forced Affliction to replace him with Josh Barnett and make the fight a #1 contender’s fight.

According to the report, ticket sales for the Thomas & Mack Center were extremely low and this prompted the people over at Affliction to push the event back. Not only is the event being pushed back though, they are also moving the venue back to Anaheim, California’s Honda Center where “Affliction: Banned” had taken place back on July 19th.

No official announcement has been made as of yet, but one is expected shortly. With the event being moved back to January, it is highly likely that Fedor Emelianenko will be put back on the card but his opponent would currently be unknown.

Affliction could decide to scrap the Arlovski vs. Barnett fight completely and re-schedule the original main event between Arlovski and Fedor but that would be Barnett without an opponent and out of the main event.
