Exclusive: WEC Featherweight Micah Miller Talks Training, Weight-Cutting, And WEC 35 Predictions
Page 2 of 2:    <<  Prev   1    2

On a potential match-up of him and Urijah Faber-
"He’s the champion and I wouldn’t be any type of competitor if I didn’t see myself fighting him one day, obviously it has to be earned, but I can definitely see us fighting one day. A good performance on Sunday will probably not land me not in a title shot, but against someone who’s up there at the top of the heap. I’d like to fight guys who’ve been around the world and are big names in the sport."

On his life outside of the cage-
"As far as my social life is concerned, the way I train makes it to pretty much where I don’t have one. I’ve given that up in hopes of one day being a champion. All the training that I do, its so exhausting, at the end of the day I don’t want to do anything, I don’t want to talk to anybody. I just have these goals set on my MMA game and I just follow those and don’t pay attention to anything else. Its just a choice that I’ve made."

On training with his older brother Cole Miller-
"It’s great, we live together and we both have the same goals so we feed off each other and push each other to be the best we can be, he’s more experienced than I am so I definitely learn from him. Its easier to have that than to do it on your own."

I was also able to get a few predictions from Micah on the three title fights that co-headline the card.

On Jamie Varner vs. Marcus Hicks-
"I’m going to have to go with Varner, overall he’s a very complete fighter, he can box he can kickbox he can wrestle, he’s got gas, his ground is probably the part of his game that’s not as strong as the others but he can definitely grapple, he’s just more complete."

On Brian Stann vs. Steve Cantwell-
"I’m going with Stann. I don’t know much about Cantwell but I know that Stann trains with some studs over in Georgia at the Hardcore Gym, and I know he’s being pushed everyday so he’s definitely got the team to really help him so I’m going to go with him."

On Carlos Condit vs. Hiromitsu Miura-
"I don’t know much about Miura, I heard he fought Mayhem and did pretty well, but I think Condit is running the weight class right now and I don’t think anybody can beat him. For anybody to beat him I think you’re going to have to go and find someone in the UFC."

If there was one thing I took from my conversation with Micah, it would be focus. He seems as though he's ready to crush mountains into gravel and pave the way towards a title shot. The Georgia native can take one step closer on Sunday night when he locks it up with Josh Grispi.

Tune in to the Versus Network to see the fight live on television, and as always, keep it right here on Fightline.com for up-to-the-minute results of the night's action.
