UFC middleweight veteran Nate Quarry suffered a freak accident last month that will have him sidelined until November or December at the earliest.
Quarry was apparently attending a party where friends were hitting golf balls. Quarry was walking behind the group when he was hit directly in his left eye by the backswing of a young woman, breaking his orbital bone.
“I’m just glad it was me and not some kid or other woman,” Quarry told FCFighter. “We had grown men swinging these clubs. If it would have hit a kid or a woman, it would have smashed their face.”
Quarry is looking forward to participating in a proposed event in Portland (his home state), but must first focus on healing up.
