 It is being reported that UFC heavyweight champion, Randy Couture, and WAMMA heavyweight champion, Fedor Emelianenko, met last night in Los Angeles. While Couture did send out pictures of the meeting, he failed to mention what the meeting was about. After losing a recent legal battle to the UFC, it could be Couture’s way of getting back at Dana White and company.
Both were in Los Angeles for a photo shoot and decided to go to dinner afterwards. It is known that Affliction is not behind the photo shoot, so it’s currently unclear who brought the two superstars together last night.
According to Sam Caplan of Five Ounces of Pain, Couture has been less optimistic of a showdown with Emelianenko because of the UFC’s continued attack on his MMA career. The interpretation of the contract has been argued on for months and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
Emelianenko and Couture have made it clear that they would both like to face each other but the clock is ticking on whether or not the fight can still happen while Couture is at his peak.
