 Yahoo! Sports is reporting that former 5-time UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz is close to signing with the upstart MMA organization, Affliction. Current Affliction light heavyweight Renato “Babalu” Sobral has stated that he wants Ortiz as his next opponent, but that it was up to, “(Affliction) to sign him [Ortiz] first.”
If Ortiz signs, his first fight with the promotion would be at Affliction’s second event, which is currently scheduled for October 11th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
It has long been rumored that Affliction has been a leading candidate in the Tito Ortiz sweepstakes and with Donald Trump lending a hand, it only made it that much more apparent that Ortiz would sign.
