UFC 85: Bedlam Weigh-In Results - Thiago Alves misses weight
UFC 85: Bedlam Weigh-In Results - Thiago Alves misses weight
Fighters weighed-in early this morning in London, England in preparation for tomorrow afternoon's event. All fighters made weight with the exception of Thiago Alves, one half of the main event.

According to Dana White, this development is just par for the course with this event.

“I’m wondering if this kid [Thiago Alves] should be at 170 or not. If this were a title fight, I’d be really pissed. What are you going to do? Matt Hughes agreed to fight him at 175, so it’s not all bad. … I can’t wait to get this card behind me, to be honest with you. Eight guys dropped out. The main event guy can’t make weight. It’s crazy.”

The good news is that Hughes has agreed to fight Alves at the catch weight of 175 ensuring that the card isn't a total disaster; and the UFC should be given credit for pulling together a passable, albeit substandard card, in the face of consistent injuries and drop outs. Let's just hope that the show goes off with out a hitch tomorrow.

Below is a look at the official weigh-in results for UFC 85:

Matt Hughes (170) vs. Thiago Alves (174)

Michael Bisping (184) vs. Jason Day (184)

Brandon Vera (228) vs. Fabricio Werdum (247)
