Karo Parisyan: "I'm trying to change a lot of stuff in my life."Karo Parisyan recently took time out to speak with YahooSports! about his recent loss to Thiago Alves, his place in MMA and his future aspirations. Below are some of the highlights from that article.

Parisyan On His Place In MMA:

“Chuck (Liddell) lost two fights in a row, but he was still considered one of the best light heavyweights in the world. Wanderlei (Silva) got knocked out twice and lost his third fight to Chuck, but he was still considered as one of the toughest 205-pounders in the world. And I still consider myself in the top five in the world."

Karo Parisyan On His Loss To Thiago Alves:

"(Do I) accept the decision that I got [expletive] in my ass with no lube?” Karo asked. “Yeah, I can accept that. Other than that, (have I) accepted the loss? I have no other choice but to accept the loss because of what happened to me. No disrespect to Thiago or his camp. I have tremendous respect for all of them. But three years ago, if I would have looked at Thiago as an opponent, I would have laughed. ‘Come one, man. Give me some real competition.’ But today with me, just because of lack of training, and a lack of motivation for several reasons in my life, Thiago became a challenge. And unexpectedly, I lost the fight. I still can’t believe it. At the same time I will tell Thiago, God willing, eventually I’ll meet you one more day in your career, and it will be disturbing to watch what I do to you.”

Parisyan On Training With Georges St. Pierre At Greg Jackson's Camp:

“At this point, I’m trying to change a lot of stuff in my life as far as training. I think it’s a message from God saying I’m not ready for this title shot. ‘Get your act right.’ … I think it just woke me up once and for all pretty good.”
