Recent reports indicate that WEC Middleweight fighter Paulo Filho has checked himself into a rehabilitation clinic in Brazil for chemical dependency and depression. Filho was scheduled to defend his WEC Middleweight title in a rematch against Chael Sonnen on March 26, 2008. Sources close to the fighter did not reveal the nature of the chemical dependency.
Sonnen and Filho fought previously at WEC 31 on December 12, 2007 with Filho winning due to a controversial armbar submission.
