2ndRound:
McGivern takes the fight to the mat as he ends up in a twister side guard. McGivern goes for a kimora but it is not a real threat due to his leg being stuck in half guard. He is able to dominate top control when the champion was able to get McGivern in a crucifix, eventually rolling him over to end the round in an omoplata attempt. McGivern was saved by the bell. Champ wins this round, they are now tied 1-1
3rdRound
Not too much activity in the 3rdRound, although both fighters are throwing bombs. McGivern lands a nice body shot and the champ answers back with a left head kick and a flurry, but to too damaging. Another close round, but the flurry that Horwich threw may have won him the round.
4thRound
Horwich comes out swinging, landing some nice combinations. McGivern answers back with some nice strikes of his own as both fightes find themselves locked in a clinch. McGivern lands a solid right uppercut that seems to stun Horwich, and he is able to take the champion down. As the fighters make their way to their feet, McGivern lands another wicked uppercut that certainly did some damage. This could very well be a 2-2 tied heading into the Championship Round.
5thRound
Both fighters sensing that the fight is close, they come out swinging with McGivern winning the exchanges. McGivern clearly looks like the fresher of the two fighters as his strikes are much crisper and accurate. Not too much activity in the final round as the two jostle in the corner for under hook advantage. McGivern lands another right uppercut, his third one of the night. It looks like we could be looking at a new champion. 5thRound has it scores 3-2 in favor of the challenger.
