Alexandre “Cacareco” Ferreira vs. Lew Polley

1stRound:

Polley lands a couple of nice hands, however as the fighers Cacareco catches Polley in a standing guillotine and the fight is stopped before it really began. Cacareco wins via tapout at :40 in the 1stRound.
Jake Ellenberger vs. Pat Healy

1stRound:

Ellenberger lands a couple of nice combinations, then a strong right hook. Haely is able to pull guard and the fight is taken to the mat. Not too much activity on the ground as Ellenberger is active inside of Haely’s open guard. Ellenberger lands a heavy right elbow. Ellenberger did a solid job of controlling the top position and won the round pretty easily.

2ndRound:

Ellenberger lands another set of nice combinations and follows that up with a nice knee knocking Haely’s mouthpiece out. The then grabs Haely in the clinch and lands a solid knee to the body. The fight makes its way to the ground and is very similar to the 1stRound with Ellenberger inflicting all the damage. Haely is finally able to get the fight back up, but Ellenberger slams him back to the mt, landing in a more dominant half guard position. Ellenberger 2-0

3rdRound:

As Ellenberger misses a head kick, Haely is able to catch him off balance and is able to take him down. Sensing that he is down badly, Haely comes out extra aggressive, however finds himself giving up his back. Haely’s fighting spirit comes out as he lands a couple of nice shots in the guard however Ellenberger is able to get the fight back up and slams Haely back to the mat. The fighters slug it out to end and exciting 3rdRound. Haely made it a lot closer than the prevoius two rounds, and could have pulled that one out. Either way, Ellenberger should have won 2-1 on the 5thRound scorecards.

Unanimous Decision goes to Ellenberger

Title Fight:
Ryan Schultz (Lightweight Champion) vs. John Gunderson

1stRound:

Gunderson gets Schultz pinned against the ropes, trying for a single leg. Shultsz is able to take Gunderson to the mat with strong double underhooks, landing in the half guard. Schultz goes for a couple big swings in the guard, but comes up empty as he stands over Gunderson finally landing a couple of shots to the face as the round ends with Shults on top in the half guard. Not too exciting of a round, Schultz 1-0.

2ndRound:

Gunderson lands a nice left hook to the face as he picks Schultz up and brings him to the mat, landing in Schultz’ half guard and guillotine attempt. Gunderson was never in any real danger and is able to escape, as the fighters exchange top position. Schultz has Gunderson pinned in the corner as there is little activity on the ground. The bell rings with the fighters in the exact same position as the 1stRound. Schultz on top and winning the round. Schults up 2-0, but it is close.
