IFL Results from the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas
5thRound.com was in attendance last night at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada as three titles were on the line. Here are the fight by fight results broken down by each round.

Ian Loveland vs. Dennis Davis

1stRound:

Davis did a solid job of pushing the pace early in the fight, landing a couple of nice combinations. Then Loveland landed a nice slam to bring Davis to the ground. However, Davis was crafty enough to work his way into an armbar attempt. The reminder of the round was fairly exciting with both fighters jostling for top position. Close call, but 5th Round awards that to Loveland for more aggressive submission attempts.

2ndRound:

Loveland connected with a nice right hand to Davis’ ear dazing him. Loveland was then able to catch Davis in a guillotine choke to end the fight at :58 in the 2ndRound by tapout.

Rafael Dias vs. Santino DeFranco

1stRound:

Dias dominated the fight from start to finish. He put on a Jiu Jitsu clinic on Defranco as he maintained dominant position going for submission after submission throughout. Diaz was finishing able to finish off DeFranco by tapout via rear naked choke at 2:03 in the 1stRound.

Leopaldo Serao vs. Josh Haynes

1stRound:

Haynes connected with a nice left hook to bring Serao to the mat. Understnading that he has a major disadvantage on the ground, he let Serao stand back up. Haynes later connected with another nice head shot that sentao to the mat. Once again, Haynes let him stand back up. There is no doubt what Seroa wants to do in this fight, attempting multiple takedowns and even pulling guard. He had a nice gogoplata attempt, but Haynes was able to step out of it. Haynes dominated the round as Serao spent most of the round on his back hoping Haynes would take it to the ground. Round to Haynes, easily.

2ndRound:

Not much activitiy as Seroa tried for multiple takedowns. The boos were raining down almost as fast as Seroa falling to the mat, trying to pull guard. Haynes catches him with a right overhand bringing Seroa to the mat. Haynes then backs away, refusing to make this a ground game. Serao is finally able to pull Haynes into his guard, however, Haynes was able to land some heavy blows in a Ground N’ Pound. 2-0 Haynes.

Unanimous Decision goes to Haynes

3rdRound:

Much of the same as the first round, however Seroa is able to get Haynes’ back and tries for multiple rear naked attempts. Haynes is doing a great job in avoiding being submitted, as he finally steps away and lands a nice combination. Seroa may have gotten that round for aggressive submission attempts.
