Matt Lindland To Sign With DREAMS?

Denis Kang confirmed in a recent interview with The Fight Network, that Matt Lindland may be on the verge of signing with DREAMS; the new Japanese promotion created from a collaberation with FEG (K-1) and DSE (former PRIDE staff).

“I want to win the grand prix,” Kang said. “Now they’ve got Akiyama, [Melvin] Manhoef, [Zelg] Galesic, [Kazushi] Sakuraba, Dong Sik Yoon … and I heard that Matt Lindland is going to be signing with them. There are a lot of good fighters I want to fight right there.”

Lindland is widely viewed as one of the top middleweights in the world. He fought briefly in the UFC before having a falling out with UFC president Dana White. White briefly entertained bringing a very willing Lindland back to the UFC recently, but apparently thought better of it according to Lindland and made it clear that the fighter would not be welcomed back.

Kang will make his debut for Dream in a middleweight grand prix tournament on Tuesday, April 29 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

The subsequent rounds of the grand prix will likely take place in June and September.
