Cheik Kongo Disappointed About Lesnar's Quick Rise
Cheik Kongo Disappointed About Lesnar's Quick RiseCheick Kongo recently sat down for an interview with Takedown at his new camp with Wolfslair MMA Academy in Liverpool, England.

Kongo addressed a number of topics ranging from his close relationship to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson to leaving his family behind to train in England.

The talented Frenchman also had some interesting things to say about recently minted UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

"I have nothing to say about his performance," said Kongo. "He trained hard, he got this title, so in some ways I'm very disappointed. He got the title so fast. Every time I try to get this someone keep me back."

Kongo may have had his shot at Lesnar had he not lost a decision loss to Heath Herring at UFC 82. Herring went on to face Lesnar in his next fight but was utterly dominated en route to dropping a unanimous decision himself.

As it stands, Kongo is left to ponder what-if's as he trains for Mostapha Al-turk, who he faces on Dec. 27, and waits for another opportunity to come his way.

"I'm very hungry...[The title] would be better around my hips than [Lesnar's]."
