ProElite/EliteXC Sells Off Remaining Assets - New Major Promotion In The Works?
ProElite/EliteXC Sells Off Remaining Assets - New Major Promotion In The Works? Our friends over at FiveOuncesOfPain.com have recently reported that ProElite has accepted a bid to sell their off their remaining assets.

The company had been asking $9 million for what's left of ProElite, which includes fighter contracts and broadcast deals with CBS and Showtime.

Fightline.com has been able to confirm through our sources that this is indeed the case, but we've no news on who the buyer is at this time.

We do know that Strikeforce has made a bid for ProElite's assets but were apparently turned away. Reports have also surfaced that the UFC made a brief inquiry but never an official offer.

Whoever acquired ProElite's assets, likely did so for its fighter contracts and its most valuable asset - it's television contracts with CBS/Showtime.

It's unlikely that Affliction made the purchase and the UFC and Strikeforce are likely out of the picture as well. Does this mean a new major fight promotion is on the horizon?

We'll have more on this story as details emerge. In the mean time, click here to check out Sam Caplin's very informative synopsis of the situation.
