 Affliction has updated their January 24th Affliction "Day of Reckoning" card and the update has former UFC Light Heavyweight fighter Thierry Sokoudjou taking on Renato "Babalu" Sobral.
Sokoudjou was recently released by the UFC after putting up a 1-2 record in the Octagon. Best known for his knockouts over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ricardo Arona, Sokoudjou was unable to recreate that magic in the UFC.
Babalu was originally scheduled to take on Matt Lindland but after winning the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight title over Bobby Southworth, Affliction took him off and put Vitor Belfort in his place. Now Babalu can fight in the same division that he holds a title in.
