 The word has come out of Affliction Entertainment that Matt “The Law” Lindland will be taking on Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort in a Middleweight match instead of his original opponent in Renato “Babalu” Sobral.
Although Sobral is no longer taking on Matt Lindland, he is still scheduled to be competing on Affliction’s second card, “Day of Reckoning”. Sobral is the new Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion after he defeated Bobby Southworth in November.
Lindland last competed at Affliction’s first event in July in a win over Fabio Negao. He also lost his bid for a seat in Oregon’s legislature.
Belfort also won in his last effort against Terry Martin at Affliction “Banned” back in July. After an up and down career, “The Phenom” is looking to work his way up the Middleweight rankings.
