 After being submitted by Jens Pulver back in December in his last WEC fight, Cub Swanson took a step back and regrouped as he defeated Donnie Walker only two months later to get back in the win column. Swanson appears ready to return to the WEC as he announced via his MySpace page, “I will be fighting Takaya Dec.3rd on WEC 37.”
The Takaya that he’s speaking of is Hiroyuki Takaya who has competed in the WEC previously in a loss to Leonard Garcia.
Swanson has been set up by the WEC to return in impressive fashion as he should be a heavy favorite against Takaya, who holds a 9-5-1 record. Takaya is known more for his losses more so than his wins as he has come up short against the likes of Gilbert Melendez, Genki Sudo, “JZ” Calvancante and the aforementioned Leonard Garcia.
