 Many MMA fans saw UFC lightweight Hermes Franca having a good time in the stands at last night’s WEC 36 event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Apparently, Franca had too much fun as he was arrested at 2:38 early Thursday morning by the Jupiter Police Department in Jupiter, Florida for suspicion of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Officials from the Jupiter Police Department did confirm Franca’s arrest and his subsequent release. However they were unable to release any additional information regarding the situation.
This isn’t Franca’s first controversial run-in, as he was suspended by the California State Athletic Commission for one year in 2007 after testing positive for steroids. However according to the report, this is Franca’s first criminal offense.
