 Tom Atencio has said that he will refrain from officially announcing their second event entitled “Day of Reckoning” until everything has been signed, sealed and delivered. It seems that he may not have to as Affliction’s own website may have let the out the surprise as it shows graphics for the main event between Fedor Emelianenko vs. Andrei Arlovski as well as the date and location.
“Day of Reckoning” was originally scheduled for October 11th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas but slow ticket sales sparked Affliction to hold off. Following the postponement, Affliction had announced that they were teaming up with Golden Boy Promotions.
Atencio was concerned that a January 17th event would be bad for Mixed Martial Arts as they would be competing with the UFC for Pay-Per-View dollars.
Emelianeko will be defending his WAMMA Heavyweight title as Andrei Arlovski will apparently challenge at Honda Center on January 24th.
