 The original main event for the postponed “Day of Reckoning” is now the main event again for January’s Affliction “Day of Reckoning”. The date and venue have yet to be determined, but we do know that it will be strictly an MMA event.
MMARated spoke with Affliction Entertainment VP, Tom Atencio, who confirmed to them that Fedor Emelianenko will defend his WAMMA heavyweight title against Andrei Arlovski. “The Pitbull” is coming off of an impressive victory over Roy Nelson at EliteXC: Heat, while Emelianenko is coming off of an injury he suffered during his destruction of former UFC champion Tim Sylvia.
No other fights have been confirmed but “Day of Reckoning” will be an MMA-only card as both sides have agreed that this wasn’t the right time to do a boxing and MMA card together.
