 According to Fedor Emelianenko himself, he is scheduled to face either Andrei Arlovski or Josh Barnett at Affliction’s next event in January. It had been unclear up until this point as Emelianenko spoke about wanting to fight on New Year’s Eve in Japan.
“I have been told that my opponent would be Andrei Arlovski or Josh Barnett in the next Affliction.” Emelianenko confirmed.
Although the option is still there for him to compete on December 31st, Emelianenko says, “whether I fight or not in NYE depends on a negotiation between my manager and DREAM.”
It’ll be interesting to see how Affliction determines who will get to challenge Emelianenko for the WAMMA heavyweight title as Arlovski will be facing Roy Nelson on October 4th for EliteXC’s “Saturday Night Fights”.
