Also, UFC 78 was officially announced during the UFC 76 broadcast. It will take place on Saturday, November 17 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Although no bouts have officially been confirmed, the event which will be called "Validation", will include Frankie Edgar vs. Spencer Fisher and Joe Lauzon vs. Jason Reinhardt.

Several sources close to the UFC have also indicated that UFC 78: Validation is likely to be headlined by the Tito Ortiz vs. Rashad Evans rematch.
