Highly touted top middleweight prospect Gesias “JZ" Calvancanti continued winning in impressive fashion with another exciting performance; this time against Andre Dada. The two Brazilians went toe-to-toe at the beginning of the first round with Dada seeming to get the better of the exchanges until JZ took Dada down and quickly submitted him by armbar. This is the second year in a row that JZ has won the K1 Hero's middleweight tournament.

Kazushi Sakuraba, Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto, and Sergei Kharitonov were also victorious.
