CAUTION: SPOILERS INCLUDED – It has been smooth sailing for Team Serra thus far on season six of The Ultimate Fighter, but this week two members of the squad will be eliminated by their own teammates in quarterfinal match-ups. Who will survive and move on to the semifinals?

It’s a hard time for Team Serra, especially for the coach, UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra, because teammate will fight teammate in two quarterfinal bouts on this episode. Adding to the dilemma is the fact that Matt Arroyo and Richie Hightower have been chosen – via coin toss - to be cornered by the opposing coach, Matt Hughes.

Both Arroyo and Hightower have elected not to train with Team Hughes for their upcoming bouts against Troy Mandaloniz and George Sotiropoulos, respectively, and Serra, in a move that surprised Hughes, has decided not to corner any of his fighters in their fights against one another.

But with all four fighters in the gym together, it has led Mandaloniz to believe that there is favoritism towards Arroyo and Sotiropoulos from the coaching staff, something Serra vehemently denies.

Away from the drama of fight week is the traditional coaches’ challenge. This season, Serra and Hughes will compete in a game of bowling for a grand prize of $10,000. Each fighter on the winning coach’s team will also receive $1,500 – at least until Hughes asked UFC President Dana White to up the cash to $3,000 per fighter. White said he’ll do it if Hughes bowls a strike. Hughes does it, and now each fighter on the winning team will get $3,000.

Unfortunately for Hughes, that money went to the members of Team Serra, as Serra – with the coaching help of Arroyo – beats Hughes in the last frame to win the challenge.

In this week’s fights, Arroyo makes quick work of Mandaloniz, taking him to the mat in the first 30 seconds of the fight and sinking in a fight ending arm bar moments later. Sotiropoulos has a tougher time with the game Hightower in their bout, but late in the first round he gets his teammate to the mat and eventually submits him with a kimura.

As for Serra, he’s just glad this week, which he called an “emotional rollercoaster”, is over.

Arroyo, Sotiropoulos, and Mac Danzig are in the TUF6 final four. Who will join them next week, Ben Saunders or Tommy Speer?
