Nate Diaz just wants to make the UFC’s job a little more difficult. Shortly after being announced as the main event of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 Finale opposite Gray Maynard, Diaz sent out a tweet about how he had a high school reunion that day.
His manager Mike Kogan says Diaz simply wants the promotion to move his bout to UFC on FOX 9 so he has home-field advantage.
“It has nothing to do with the reunion or not reunion,” said Kogan to MMA Junkie. “He would like to see if he could fight on the Sacramento card. It’s only two weeks later. It’s closer to his house; it’s like fighting in your backyard with more fans. That’s really what it’s about.”
Diaz-Maynard is still booked for TUF 18 Finale. It will be their rubber match with Diaz winning the original encounter during TUF 5 tapings. Maynard countered with a split-decision win a few years back.
TUF 18 Finale is November 30 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV.
