The MMA Word podcast is back for this, our 30th episode. After a very busy weekend in combat sports and even busier week in UFC news, we’ve got a lot to sort through. Here’s what is lined up for this week’s show:
–Weekend Recap: Roy Nelson scored another first round knock out at UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi on Friday,Tyrone Spong broke his leg on Gohkan Saki’s knee at Glory, and Joey Beltran choked out Vladimir Matyushenko in The Janitor’s retirement fight. I give my thoughts on the weekend’s fights, and one in particular that will make you fall off your stool.
–Tim Boetsch: UFC middleweight Tim Boetsch joins us this week ahead of his UFC 172 main card fight with Luke Rockhold. The Barbarian gives his thoughts on Rockhold and a bit of insight into his hobby of gold prospecting.
–MMA Headlines: Rousey vs Davis co-headlines UFC 175, Mighty Mouse headlines his first pay-per-view, and the UFC is shaking up their plans for their summer cards (by moving Chael and Wanderlei to July).
—UFC on Fox 11 Preview: Travis Brown vs Fabricio Werdum headlines the UFC’s next network television outing, and will likely determine the number-one contender at heavyweight. I go over the fights on the main card and give my thoughts on the matchups. **Spoiler Alert** Barboza by leg-kick TKO.
