The MMA Word mixed martial arts podcast returns this week on Fightline.com. This week on the show:
–We recap all the action from UFN 27, where Carlos Condit picked up a win with a 4th round TKO over Martin Kampmann. I take a look at all the action that went down in Indianapolis, including that knee from Abel Trujillo.
–We also recap the epic night that will forever be known as UFC 164, where Anthony Pettis beat one of the pound-for-pound best fighters in the world in Benson Henderson, Chad Mendes became the first fighter to KO/TKO Clay Guida, Josh Barnett made an impressive return to the UFC with a debatable TKO win over Frank Mir, and Poirer and Koch had the fight of the whole week, but somehow didnt get a fight-of-the-night bonus.
–In ‘MMA Headlines’, we take a look at how Bellator’s PPV card is shaping up with the addition of a featherweight title fight between Pat Curran and Daniel Strauss, Cheick Kongo signs with Bellator, and Mayhem Miller and Miguel Torres go directly to jail.
–We debut a new segment called ‘Fighter Rankings’, and this week we are talking featherweights. I rank the top 10 in the 145 pound division, and we take a look at where the winners and losers from UFC 164 shake out in the rankings.
–We close out the show with a preview of UFC Fight Night 28’s main card, which goes down this Wednesday in Belo Horizante, Brazil.
