Another Saturday with two UFC events on opposite ends of the world is in the books, and The MMA Word is here help you clear your mind of all things Fight Night 43 & 44 to make room for UFC 175 and the TUF 19 Finale. Its fight week for the biggest event of the year thus far, and we’ve got a lot lined up on this week’s episode. Here’s what’s in store this week:
-Fight Night Recaps: So much Fight Nights, so much decision. 21 fights happened inside the Octagon(s) this weekend, and I’ll be giving my thoughts on some of the action, including Nate Marquardt’s first-round armbar of James Te Huna and why Cub Swanson is the most worthy contender in the featherweight division.
-Rob Font Interview: Newly signed UFC bantamweight Rob Font joins us this week to talk about how he’s preparing for his UFC debut this Saturday against George Roop.
-Chael P. Sonnen tests positive again: We learned Saturday night that Chael Sonnen tested positive for HGH and EPO in a second random drug test conducted by the NSAC a few days after his initial random test, in which he failed also. I give my thoughts on why this is a big deal and why his gift of gab shouldn’t be allowed to get him off the hook.
-Weekend Preview: I give my thoughts on Newell vs. Gaethje, UFC 175, and Edgar vs. Penn as well as predictions and some forward-looking analysis for each fight.
