The MMA Word mixed martial arts podcast returns for our second-to-last episode of 2013, as we prepare for the UFC’s year-end show, UFC 168. Here’s what’s in store this week:
–UFC 167 PPV buyrates and UFC on Fox 9 numbers are in. I break down what the numbers mean for the UFCs bottom line, whether or not ‘Mighty Mouse’ can be a PPV draw, and pose the question: Would UFC 167 have garnered more buys had Georges St. Pierre revealed in advance that this would be his final UFC title defense?
–Fights announced this week: I break down the week in fight bookings. This week we learned about two women’s title fights booked outside of the UFC, as both Jessica Aguilar and Holly Holm have their next bouts lined up. We also learned that Tyron Woodley’s texts to UFC President Dana White were worth the time after all, as he is set to take on Carlos Condit at UFC 171 in March.
–UFC 168 Preview w/ Mike Stets, host of Darce Side Radio on MMAMania.com: Mike Stets is back on the show to break down this weekend’s epic UFC 168 main card, and we both give our picks for who will win, and who might be leaving Vegas with a bonus or two.
