Miesha Tate On Ronda Rousey-Cat Zingano: Champ Will Retain

Miesha Tate isn’t giving former opponent Cat Zingano much of a chance when she steps inside the Octagon to challenge Ronda Rousey for the UFC female bantamweight title.

Tate, in an interview with the MMA Underground, believes Zingano’s slow start to fights will ultimately doom her against the “finishing machine” known as Rousey.

“I think Ronda’s gonna win the fight,” she said. “Zingano coming off a slow start two fights in a row is not going to serve her well against Ronda, who is a fight-finishing machine.

“She finishes fights in the first round. You can’t come out with a slow pace and expect to (survive) with Ronda.”

Rousey has stopped both contenders Sara McMann and Alexis Davis in just over a minute combined this year, adding to the seven previous first round wins she has. Tate is the only person to push Rousey out of the first round, falling in the third this past December in their rematch.

While nothing has been made official, Rousey-Zingano is being penciled in as the co-main event to UFC 182 on January 3 from Las Vegas.
