UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey let the cat out of the bag in regards to a planned summer meeting between Miesha Tate and Jessica Eye.
After Rousey’s next title defense was confirmed, “Rowdy” stated that Tate and Eye would face each other the same night. UFC president Dana White later corrected the champion, stating only that the expected No. 1 contender match would be “sometime in June.”
Tate (16-5) has won three in a row since suffering a second loss to Rousey. That includes a recent decision win over former title challenger Sara McMann.
Eye (11-2) downed Leslie Smith for her first official Octagon win after having a victory over Sarah Kaufman overturned due to a failed drug test.
