Former Ultimate Fighter runner-up Michael Johnson finished off Gleison Tibau Saturday night at UFC 168, earning his second consecutive victory.
Johnson landed a nasty left that dropped Tibau, earning his sixth victory inside the Octagon and ninth all-time finish. Earlier this year, he snapped a two-fight losing skid with a decision win over Joe Lauzon.
“It felt good to get a knockout,” Johnson told Heidi Fang of the MMA Fight Corner. “I had a couple of losses and thought I’d get cut. I knew I had to get my (expletive) together.”
For Tibau, the loss was the first by finish since a 2006 TKO defeat vs. former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz. He is now 28-10 and 3-3 in his last six.
