The California Athletic Commission took the excitement out of Friday’s UFC 199 weigh-ins, but for many, that was a good thing.
The fighters weighed in successfully earlier in the day, allowing them to re-hydrate themselves ahead of the actual weigh-ins that took place in front of a crowd.
Michael Chandler, a former Bellator lightweight champion, thinks it is a step in the right direction for the sport:
It's much more aesthetically pleasing for fans to see guys full & hydrated with smiles and energy rather than sucked in faces. I like it.
