At Bellator 58, Michael Chandler and Eddie Alvarez took part in what many consider the greatest fight for the promotion. After close to two years, and lots of backstage drama, the rematch is booked.
The back-and-forth action lasted until the fourth round when Chandler was able to secure the submission. He became lightweight champ and has been defending the belt with ease.
Alvarez completed his Bellator contract at 8-1. He tried to sign with the UFC, but there was an issue with the original Bellator deal that prevented the move. The details of Alvarez’s new contract aren’t known and there’s speculation it’s short-term.
They meet at the first Bellator pay-per-view on November 2. Bellator 106 comes from the Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, CA.
