Michael Bisping will be out for four to six months following surgery on his detached retina. The injury removed Bisping from the main event of UFC Fight Night 30. Mark Munoz will now meet Lyoto Machida.
According to Bisping’s management team at Paradigm Sports Management, the middleweight has already undergone surgery. His team told Bleacher Report the eye must avoid contact for three months, and then they hope to begin a sparring session.
The Brit went 1-1 this year, missing out in a title shot with a loss to Vitor Belfort. He regrouped with a technical decision of Alan Belcher in April.
UFC Fight Night 30, with Munoz-Machida as the new headliner, goes down October 26 from the Phones 4u Arena in England.
