Michael Bisping was forced out of a key bout with Mark Munoz that left him down in the dumps.
Looking to fight in his native country of England, “The Count” had to exit the fight after suffering another detached retina.
Now, though, it might become a blessing in disguise, as Bisping is offering his services for another contest – one that would see Nick Diaz enter the middleweight ranks.
Diaz, who remains retired for the time being, has previously stated he would take a fight at 185 if it was offered and the right opponent. His teammate, Gilbert Melendez, recently let it be known that Diaz still feels that way.
“Well if Diaz wants a fight at 185 I would happily welcome him to the division,” Bisping posted on Twitter, in regards to the Melendez comments.
As of now, we remain minus Diaz in the UFC and MMA for that matter, unless you include his one-off promotion of WAR MMA earlier this year.
UFC president Dana White offered up his thoughts on the possible encounter via Twitter, saying “I love that fight,” recently.
That means the ball appears to be in the court of Diaz once again concerning his fighting future.
