An elbow injury has knocked Michael Bisping from a planned UFC 193 fight with Robert Whittaker.
Bisping, who was coming off back-to-back decision wins over Thales Leites and C.B. Dollaway this year, will be sidelined for a short time. He is rumored as a possible return opponent for Anderson Silva or Lyoto Machida in 2016.
I was hoping to be giving another victory speach, like this one here, in around 6 weeks time. Unfortunately I've had to withdraw from my bout at #ufc193 due to the fact I need surgery on my left elbow. My apologies to anyone who bought a ticket, and of course to my scheduled opponent Robert Whitacker. Make no mistake though, I'll be back in there soon enough! Thanks for the support everyone.
In place of Bisping, Whittaker will meet recently-ranked Uriah Hall, who scored a second round knockout win over Gegard Mousasi this past weekend. The event takes place November 15 from Australia.
