Michael Bisping Hoping That Jon Jones Learns From His Ordeal

Michael Bisping has been in the spotlight of the UFC since winning The Ultimate Fighter, especially in his native home of England.

Bisping was a recent co-host on “UFC Tonight” and discussed Jon Jones and all of his legal troubles. Jones became the first fighter stripped of his title by the UFC’s code of conduct policy, along with being indefinitely suspended.

“It sends a clear message: whether you’re on the fight pass prelims or you’re the pound-for-pound champion, you’ve got to be accountable for your actions,” Bisping said. “Is he going to be sorry for what he’s done? I want to see Jon learn from this.

He’s not a bad person.”

Kenny Florian, also working the desk for the show, added that “I’d like to see some kind of personal healing or rehabilitation. If you look at the accident, you don’t just flee.

“That’s a little fishy. He’s got to take care of these things and hopefully we’ll see him back in the UFC.”

Bisping also said what everyone has been thinking: Jones’ arrest and suspension hurts the image of the UFC.

“It wasn’t too long ago that the sport didn’t get what it deserved,” he said. “We’ve all worked hard to look better.”
