Matt Riddle Confirms Future Titan FC Title Fight

Ex-UFC fighter Matt Riddle will face Jose Landi-Jons later this year for the inaugural Titan FC welterweight title. Riddle confirmed news of the fight via Twitter Friday.

“It’s official 6 fight contract a sweet signing bonus and I fight MMA legend Pele for the Titan FC title soon,” he wrote. “Couldn’t be happier thank you again for the opportunity can’t wait.”

Riddle (8-3) debuted with Titan FC last month, submitting Michael Kuiper in the second round. He has not lost since a 2011 decision to Lance Benoist, though two of his wins were overturned to no-contests after failed drug tests.

Following a 2013 failed test following a fight with Che Mills, Riddle was released by the UFC.

Landi-Jons is 28-15 in his MMA career, which dates back to 1993. He has competed against the likes of Chuck Liddell, Matt Hughes, Carlos Newton, Alexander Shlemenko , Thales Leites and Jake Ellenberger.

No official date has been set for the bout, but it is expected to take place over the summer.
